On 1st September TeamSAW competed in the Weightlifting Wales Cluster event at Crossfit Aberystwyth.

Weightlifting clubs in Wales are grouped together in clusters and meet a few times per year to compete against each other in a friendly and supportive competition. Six lifters from SAW competed in this recent event hosted by Crossfit Aberystwyth.

U13 lifter Daniel Davies made 6 out of 6 lifts and personal bests of 41kg Snatch and 57kg Clean and Jerk. Daniel competes in the under 50kg category and demonstrates exceptional technique.

U20 lifter James Hart snatched 106kg, narrowly missing 112kg. In the Clean and Jerk he gained a PB of 130kg. 

Welsh Judo athlete Ashley Barnikel 48kg category, u17, made excellent improvements both in technical development and personal bests, lifting 6 out of 6 successful lifts. 29kg Snatch and 40kg Clean and Jerk.

Seren Mitchell u15 lifter had a very successful day, 6 out of 6 successful lifts and PB’s in both lifts. 47kg Snatch and 63kg Clean and Jerk.

Lotty Whalley u15 lifter also made solid personal bests 40kg Snatch and 55kg Clean and Jerk. Also demonstrating efficient technique.

Niamh Roach u20 lifter demonstrated much improved technique in both lifts gaining 54kg Snatch and 68kg Clean and Jerk. 

Seren, Lotty and Niamh will all compete in the British Age groups during mid September.
