Our next Raise the bar 6 week programme will begin soon, we are planning to deliver after Easter, Saturdays at 10am.

There are exceptional benefits all backed by research supporting participation of strength training for young people when organised by professional coaches who can provide a safe and effective training environment.

– Improves confidence and wellbeing, making new friends whilst getting stronger and fitter.

– Improves bone health, which has been linked to reducing likelihood of bone fractures later in life.

– Increases resistance to sport related injuries, strength training helps a young athlete’s ability to handle external forces that they may experience whilst playing.

– Weightlifting a great alternative to team sports, where young people can train at their own pace under the guidance of a professional coach.

– Improves health markers, lifting weights is associated with all the health benefits of regular physical activity for young people which helps reduce the risk of some diseases.

– Improves strength & power, two key elements that can lead to increased performance in other sports.

– Strength training has been shown to improve mental health and self-esteem in adolescents.

This programme is free and is fully funded by Weightlifting Wales and Welsh Government Winter of Wellbeing.

Dengys ymchwil fod manteision arbennig i bobl ifanc o gymryd rhan mewn hyfforddiant cryfder dan arweiniad hyfforddwyr proffesiynol sy’n gallu cynnig amgylchedd hyfforddi diogel ac effeithlon.

– Gellir gwella hyder a lles, a gwneud ffrindiau newydd wrth gynyddu cryfder a ffitrwydd. 

– Gellir gwella iechyd esgyrn, sy’n lleihau’r tebygrwydd o dorri esgyrn yn ddiweddarach mewn bywyd.

– Gellir cynyddu ymwrthedd i anafiadau sy’n gysylltiedig â chwaraeon; mae hyfforddiant cryfder yn helpu athletwyr ifanc i ddygymod â’r grymoedd allanol sy’n gallu eu hwynebu wrth chwarae.  

– Mae codi pwysau’n ddewis amgen gwych i chwaraeon tîm, lle y gall pobl ifanc hyfforddi yn ôl eu pwys eu hunain dan arweiniad hyfforddwr proffesiynol. 

– Gellir gwella dangosyddion iechyd; mae codi pwysau’n gysylltiedig â holl fanteision iechyd gweithgareddau corfforol ar gyfer pobl ifanc, gan helpu i leihau’r perygl o rai afiechydon.

– Gwella cryfder a phŵer – dwy brif elfen a all arwain at wella perfformiad mewn chwaraeon eraill.

– Dangoswyd bod hyfforddiant cryfder yn fodd i hybu iechyd meddwl a hunanhyder mewn pobl ifanc.

Mae’r rhaglen yn rhad ac am ddim ac yn cael ei hariannu’n llawn gan Codi Pwysau Cymru a Gaeaf Lles Llywodraeth Cymru.
