Pembrokeshire’s talented Weightlifters preparing for Budapest International

A team of talented Weightlifters, aspiring coaches and developing technical officials will be led by Pembrokeshire Weightlifting’s senior volunteers to compete in theSoroksár Cup International Weightlifitng and Cultural championships, Budapest March 2020.

In addition to organising squad training sessions within the county and with other clubs further afield; and on top of participation at various local and National events; inclusive of the variety of support methods used to develop both the athlete and the person, Pembrokeshire Weightlifitng has now added international events to their athlete development programme.

The objectives of the event is to continue creating a positive team spirit and ethos; to continue developing trust and friendships within the team and with those from other countries from around Europe; to learn about the local culture and to further develop platform experience at weightlifting competitions. With a long-term aims of developing both the athlete and the person.

Volunteers are organising a number of fundraising events to financially support the event, first of which is a Bingo night being held at the Bull Inn, Prendergast, Wednesday 9thOctober and also a team sponsored lift. Where team members will attempt to lift over 15,000KG in total within 30 minutes, this event will take place in December.
