Memberships are used to support Pembrokeshire Weightlifting, which is a Social Enterprise with community focus. The organisation is managed by a dedicated group of local volunteers. The company has a number of aspirations, in particular achieving significant growth in:

        • Community Participation
        • Community Health and Well-being
        • Active Volunteers in Pembrokeshire
        • National and International Successes.

What is my money used for?

A percentage of membership fees are kept by the Local Authority, in return for the use of the facility.

Funds from memberships are used to support volunteers gain qualifications and experience, especially through our educational programme, which is also supported by grant aid from various organisations.

Expenses for volunteers who support events.

To purchase and replace equipment for members and classes.

Approximately, half of the weekly opening times are supervised and coached by volunteers, the other half are coached by paid positions, with the funds secured from memberships.

When enough funds are available Pembrokeshire Weightlifting supports youth athletes from low income families at events.

Juniors £14.00 per month

Adults £24.00 per month

With this membership you can train as often as you like and attend all of our fitness classes. Our volunteers will provide you with excellent levels of coaching and support. Members have access to wide variety of training programmes which we have designed over the previous 5 years and they are suitable for individuals wishing to gain either health and fitness goals to enhance sports performance. Two members at SAW also create individual training plans for a small fee.

One of the organisations unique features is that of the ability of the volunteers and coaches to connect with the members regardless of their abilities, backgrounds or social situation.  A supportive environment is created for everyone. 

The membership base is extremely diverse, with the youngest being 11 years of age and the eldest being over 60. 40% of club users are from disadvantaged or minority groups, of whom about a quarter are adults and around 75% are juniors.
